Important (and surprisingly good) news on upcoming Kodak price changes
You may have already seen or heard about upcoming Kodak price increases in the USA, which naturally raises the question: what does this actually mean for those of us based in the UK and Europe?
We have now received official confirmation from Kodak regarding forthcoming price changes across their analogue film and single use camera range for our market, and the news is, overall, far more encouraging than many expected.
While there are some increases on specific professional and bulk products, the vast majority of popular Kodak films remain unchanged, and there are even price reductions on some best selling black and white lines.
The new pricing structure will come into effect from 1 February 2026.
The Good News
After several years of steady price rises across analogue film, it is genuinely refreshing to see a more balanced update. All colour 35mm Kodak films such as Kodak Gold & Ultramax as well as Kodak Portra remain untouched, and all Kodak single use cameras will see no price change at all.
Even better, some of Kodak’s most widely used black & white films such as T-MAX 100 & T-MAX 400 in 35mm will see a small price reduction, which is welcome news for many regular shooters.
The Bad News
Unfortunately, medium format and large format shooters are not quite so lucky, as most of the price increases come in these formats. Kodak Gold 200 120, Ektar 100 120, Ektachrome E100 120, Portra 160 120, T-MAX 100, T-MAX 400 will see a price increase between 14%-19%.
What this means for you
If you mainly shoot 35mm black & white film, this update is genuinely positive. Not having a price increase on any Kodak colour film is also a plus. However if you shoot Medium format now is a good time to re-stock.
As always, we will do our best to keep pricing as fair and transparent as possible and will communicate openly whenever we receive updates like this.Any remaining stock will continue to be sold at the current prices until it is exhausted, after which the new pricing will apply from 1 February 2026.
If you are shooting Kodak film regularly, this update is a useful opportunity to review what you have coming up and check current availability. If you are planning shoots later in the year, it may make sense to secure the film you rely on while current pricing is still in place.
