PENTAX started a new project with the mission to develop a film camera whom new and experienced photographers will really enjoy. PENTAX would like to provide a film camera experience that will be fun for everyone.

Ricoh Pentax has released a new video with more details of its newest compact film camera. In this video we can see the designer Mr. Takeo Suzukiand sharing his experience and passions on creating this camera.

“Our goal is to develop a camera that younger photographers will enjoy – our development effort is focused on this goal. We want to make a camera that makes taking photos a joy and that’s a pleasure to carry around every day"

A few important points to take from the PENTAX Film Project Story #02:

- The new compact camera will be inspired by the Pentax LX, a new medium format camera and a “full mechanical SLR camera".

- The new Pentax camera will have a fixed, non-interchangeable lens, focal length not specified yet.

- The camera will be a completely new design

There is no date of release for when the new Pentax camera will appear, but it shows that Ricoh is determined about bringing a new film camera out.
